By using the spray in combination with the air conditioning, the mist reaches all difficult-to-access areas inside the interior. A minor downside is that the aerosol is intended for single use and the vehicle cannot be entered during the active treatment. Starting the vehicle and turning on the air conditioning.

Pressing the locking button down firmly until it clicks.
Closing the doors immediately and waiting for 15 minutes.
Turning off the engine and ventilating the vehicle thoroughly with open doors for 10 to 15 minutes.

For the best results, vacuuming the interior thoroughly and removing the actual source of the bad smell beforehand is highly recommended.
